Blue Sharks
Shark snorkelling trips can be enjoyed by divers and non-divers alike!
These amazing creatures are super inquisitive and will come right up to you, meaning you don’t have to leave the surface to get face-to-face! For that reason, we only snorkel with the sharks and not scuba dive. The sharks put on such a good show, that if you don’t want to get in the water, they are still a magnificent sight from the boat!
After four years of running these trips, we have averaged over a 90% success rate of finding the blues. We always have two members of staff on each trip, our skipper and our experienced shark expert!
We run these trips during the weekdays between the months of July and September and can take either individual bookings, small groups, and full boat charters. The minimum age is 18 years old unless accompanied by a parent or guardian where 16 years old is then the minimum.
About The Trip
The day will commence from our dive centre in Plymouth at 8:30am. You will board one of our purpose built dive boats from our pontoon and cast off once loaded and briefed by one of our professional skippers. We will then begin the voyage out to ‘Shark Site’,
In order to attract Blue Sharks to the area you must be aware that chumming and baiting is compulsory. Once we arrive at ‘Shark site’ we shall start the chumming and baiting process and simply wait for the sharks to appear. On some days this can take 20 minutes on others this could be 3 hours.
You must be aware that we are dealing with Mother Nature and the sharks are not programmed to arrive on time for us to see them! There is a very high chance that they will appear but as with anything like this, we can never 100% guarantee the sightings.
When the sharks do appear and get comfortable with our presence, we shall allow you to enter the water without a cage and snorkel with the Blue Sharks. This in water experience will last as long as the sharks decide and can extend up to multiple hours!
Blue Sharks are a very inquisitive breed and like to get up close and personal. They provide keen photographers and videographers with fantastic opportunities to get some amazing shots.
When the encounter comes to an end we will then climb back on board the vessel and motor back to Plymouth. All in, the day will usually last anywhere between 6-8 hours.
How to Book
Our shark days will be a fixed price of £150 per person for the day. We will take a minimum of 5 and maximum of 10 persons on any given day as this allows everyone on the boat to enter the water without causing too much disruption to the sharks.
In order to book on to one of our ‘Blue Shark Trips’ you will need to decide whether you will be coming as part of a group or as an individual / pair. Please see below for more information on group and individual bookings.
Once you’re ready to book you will need to contact us by simply calling or emailing the dive centre. We can then discuss dates, timings and answer any questions you may have. At this stage we will then send you over our ‘Blue Shark Trip’ booking forms, terms and conditions form and our liability waiver. These will all have to be completed prior to your trip with us.
To secure a booking, we will require a £50 per person deposit. This will officially book your place and secure the trip. The final balance for the trip will be due 6 weeks prior to the date of departure.
