Photos

Often during club diving activities we take photos and/or video to be used as promotional material including for our website and associated social sites. As a club member you are agreeing to photos/video of you being used in this context.

Medical Fitness

Diving is a strenuous and demanding activity you must be in able physical fitness ; ill health, obesity, use of medications and ingestion of alcohol/drugs are some predisposing factors to decompression illness. The following guidelines should be used to assess your medical fitness:

By signing you document you are agreeing that you are in good health and to the best of your knowledge, fit to dive. If your medical status changes during the duration of your membership and you believe this may affect your ability to dive you are obliged to discuss this with a member of staff and/or your general practitioner prior to diving. The HSE Medical examination and assessment of divers (2008) recommend that if the BMI of a diver reaches 27 or greater, diet and fitness should be reviewed, we would highly recommend if this applies to you, that you consult your general practitioner prior to diving. Your fitness level must allow you to swim 200 meters continuously without the assistance of aids or floats. Smoking prior to diving is not condoned, smoking is prohibited onsite at the centre and on all dive vessels.
